How to share an experimental protocol

If you’re looking for experimental or sample preparation protocols to safely and efficiently utilize your newly acquired biochemistry samples that aren’t in any LUMICKS protocol documentation, you could always try asking someone in the community working in the application. When looking to share or acquire experimental or sample preparation protocols, we recommend you include the following criteria, possibly broken down into experimental phases, for a more comprehensive document:

  • How to generate one biological sample from another (e.g. dsDNA to ssDNA).

  • The experimental configurations related to the microfluidics (flow rate/pressure, buffer liquid).

  • The appropriate bead coating and diameter if appropriate.

  • The cleaning protocol (typically important for sustained use, especially if using alkaline or acidic solutions).

  • Requirements associated with labeling.
